I really admire these kinds of sites and am in awe of those who create them. Having said that I think that for mainstream use they are almost impossible to navigate and positively overwhelming for the casual user. Again kudos for creativity and perhaps that is the point. After all art needs to exist for it’s own sake. Check it out for yourself at the link here. ..:::Infinit Colours – Choose your Element !:::...

One in 8 Million – New York Characters in Sound and Images – The New York Times.

This is an amazing video piece on a number of levels. The images and production values are haunting. The story articulated by the young man is very compelling and showcases a well spoken, intelligent and articulate 14 year old who is living and thriving in NYC. So many kids his age coming from separated or divorced parents spend their adolescence being angry and resentful. Joshua and one must assume his parents have opted to manage this emotionally chaotic time with grace, humor and love for their son. This is readily apparent from just watching this short but poignant video. Watch it.

Rod Dreher: You have your opinion; they have theirs | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News | Columnists: Rod Dreher.

This is a great piece by an admittedly conservative leaning journalist. Of particular interest is the notion that Sarah Palin manages to cash in on the idea that thoughtful and reasoned decision making is bad for the country and those who practice such thinking are “the intellectual elite.” In my own experience it has been all to common to hear disparaging remarks made about anyone who is more literate, more educated, more well traveled and just plain different from “real Americans” as Ms Palin likes to call her fans. As Rob Dreher so aptly points out and I whole heartedly agree, I want my elected officials and government leaders to be smarter and more knowledgeable than I am about the matters of governance. The idea that a Sarah Palin or a Glen Beck, no matter how popular they are has a clue about running the country is one of the most frightening ideas to emerge in a long time.

Shine | The Trailers.  This is a very powerful video piece, soon to be a full length feature based upon the real life stories of folks who for a variety of reasons bailed out of jobs in the 9 -5 world and started working for themselves. It is produced by biznik.

Another great movie trailer in the same category is “Lemonade.” This video piece comes from Chris Brogan’s blog this morning. If you’ve ever received a pink slip or think that the hand writing is on the wall with regard to your job security. You really should see these two vids.
